Braces from Adam Hakimi, Steve Summers and Sam McCarthy eased Chigwell Athletic A into the third round of the JC Cyril Anekstein Cup as they ended Glenthorne United B’s run with an 8-1 victory.

Hakimi’s opener was cancelled out by a long-range effort from David Blackman. Parity was restored as Summers found the net. The Premier Division high-flyers finished strongly with Hayden Smith and Dean Ben Yosef completing the job.

Glenthorne United A manager Ian Cohen was “proud of his team” after they came away from a double-header against Hendon United A with a win apiece. Avidan Last and Saul Conway struck as Hendon won the opener 2-1. Jamie Golding replied. Lewis Walker scored the solitary goal in part two. Cohen said: “We matched the second best team in the league over 120 minutes. This shows how far we have come.”

London Maccabi Lions A claimed back-to-back wins against struggling Montana Boca United A. Max Fieldgrass and Aviel Schwarz earned them a 2-0 win in part one. David Dinkin (2), Danny Schindler (2), Michael Pearson and Fieldgrass eased them to a 6-0 success in the second.
