Simon Corney has described the FA Cup win over Liverpool as the best result since he took over the club 10 years ago.
Two goals from Matt Smith and one from Reece Wabara earned Oldham a memorable 3-2 victory.
And after booking their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time in 19 years, the League 1 strugglers will again have home advantage when they take on Everton in round five.
Corney said: "I would say it is probably our best win as we were at home and also against the biggest club we have played and knocked out. We deserved to win and weren’t lucky as we scored three goals.
"It was fantastic, not just for me but also for the fans, everybody who works at the club and also for the town.
"The place was rocking and I have no doubt the atmosphere gave the players a lift."
Now Corney hopes the win will be the turning point of the season for his team. He said: "I’m fed up of talking about relegation the whole time, but staying in League 1 is much more important than beating Liverpool."
Having assured manager Paul Dickov his job is "safe for now," Corney hopes his team are able to improve their league form ahead of the next round.
He said: "Days like Sunday are fantastic but you can get carried away and you have to make the right decisions for the club.
