Simon Barnett believes London Maccabi Vale’s (LMV) increased investment in coaching junior players this winter will ensure better results on the pitch.
Club chairman Barnett is preparing to lead LMV into their 60th anniversary season during which a series of special events will be held.
But he insists that “without the colts section and its continuing development, the club has no long-term future”.
The only Jewish club in London with a colts section, LMV run teams from under-nine through to under-15 and Barnett is determined to see progress on the field next season.
He said: “I’d like to see every young player trying to improve the quality of their own game which in turn will produce better results on the pitch.
"Our increased investment in colts coaching will I hope allow this aim to become a reality.
"Winter nets are vital in the development of any cricketer. You cannot go from one summer to the next without these sessions and then hope to improve your game.
"You need to develop all facets of your skills and iron out the faults during the off-season, which is why it is so important to attend."
LMV begin winter nets in Borehamwood on January 11 before moving outdoors at Rowley Lane in April.
Barnett said: “The quality of our coaches, the experience they offer together with the training methods they apply, are of the highest standard and will benefit every player who attends.”
Recent ground improvements at the club have seen new covers arrive and there are plans for new sight screens and a state-of-the-art clubhouse at the venue in Arkley.
Barnett commented: “Our relationship with the trustees at Maccabi London Brady has been excellent over the past 12 months.
"They have provided us with capital expenditure to improve the playing facilities at our Rowley Lane ground.
"This investment will benefit everyone in the long-term and we are extremely grateful for their support.
