Classy Curtis steals the show

Ricky Curtis won the Donald Forster National Scratch competition following two fine rounds of 75 at Woodhall Spa Golf Club.

Playing in the AJGCS’s final competition of the year, Curtis of Dyrham Park, claimed the title ahead of John Lawrence.

Curtis, the pre-tournament favourite, finished the first round two shots ahead of Jeremy Bohn with a score of 77 and he maintained the lead with solid performance. He went on to finish three shots ahead of Lawrence, who matched his score on the opening round. Jeremy Bohn finished in third place, a further three shots back.

There was also a close finish in the Masters competition, with Abridge’s, Lol Green firing the best opening round score of 77. However, Mark Phillips of Chigwell went on to win the trophy with an aggregate score of 155.
