But Team hauled themselves back into it when Adam Aminoff calmly stroked home a penalty following a handball.
Then livewire David Joseph Cohen capitalised on the pass of the match from summer arrival Yoav Lebens - a sumptuous 40-yard diagonal Gerrard-esque pass - to finish calmly.
Team head coach Ben Gilbey told JC Sport: "We started poorly, were not great in the first half, but we played a lot better in the second .
"Woodford managed only one shot on target in the second 45, which was their second goal. A ball was played over the top to Woodford's striker, who was about five yards offside, and then ran through to finish. Despite the linesman's flag being raised for offisde, the referee decided to ignore it, to my disbelief and I think everyone at Fairlop!
"I was proud of the boys though as we managed to show a lot of character and fight back. We had several chances in the last 10 minutes and it was a shame not get the win in the end.
"I was very pleased with our second-half performance and the character the boys showed to get back into the game, especially when things were going against us."
