"Today comes at the cost of our Mr Consistent Pierce Prince as he starts his new life in Los Angeles - we wish him all the very best in his new adventure.

"It was a good game of football, credit to NLR C for getting a team together, they played the game in the right spirit.

"We will certainly enjoy ourselves over the coming weeks but attention will soon turn to next year, where we will on the hunt for more silverware."

Ben Kaye fired a consolation for NLR and manager Sam Rose told JC Sport: "“Firstly congratulations to Fairlop on winning the league. They’re a well-run team that were the best team in our league this year and deserved their promotion."

Rose went on to say: "I’m proud of the boys that put on the orange shirt for us this Sunday, playing nearly 70 minutes with 10 men – stepping up and taking responsibility for representing the team.

"We’ve had an inconsistent season, I think it’s fair to say, which has hindered our progress but we will be looking to strengthen in the summer to mount a title challenge next season and come back stronger."
