Celtic have confirmed interest in Tal Ben Haim.
Asked about the Maccabi Tel Aviv striker, Celtic Ronny Deila said: “He is one of many names we are talking about, but there is a long way from there to a signing.”
Reports in Israel claim that Celtic have already bid £1.6 million for the Israeli international, with Standard Liege and PAOK Salonika also pursuing the 25-year-old.
But it remains unclear if Maccabi, who are chasing a third consecutive Ligat Ha’Al title, will sell Ben Haim, with Eran Zahavi closing in on a move to the Premier League. Spurs, West Ham and Swansea have all been linked with the midfielder.
Zahavi’s agent Ronen Katsav said: “Eran has had a number of very serious offers from the Premier League. I believe that if Maccabi receive the right one, the club will agree to release him."
