A typically brutal innings by Player of the Year Akiva Lieberman plus excellent spells from Huddy Lieberman and Shaya Rabinowitz helped South Manchester Sports cruise to victory against Manchester Maccabi.

Maccabi won the toss and asked South to bat on a very green wicket following the recent downpours. The new opening pair of Huddy Lieberman and Simon Jeffries got off to a great start putting on 47 for the first wicket before Jeffries fell to debutant Mainzer for 12.

That brought Akiva Lieberman to the crease to partner up with his brother, and it soon became clear that he was carrying on where he left off last season. A fine innings of 70 including three huge sixes in one over from Schogger was a great start to the season.
