Golders-Green based prop Matan Brosh scored the decisive try as Israel started their new Rugby Nations Cup group in impressive style, defeating Hungary 23-14 in Netanya.

Trailing the team ranked 65th in the world 14-11 at half time, Raanan Penn's side scored 12 points unanswered to record their 12th straight win.

Nimrod Kaplan scored the first try in the opening half before Brosh, who has been training with London Scottish, got the crucial second try. Amir Buitler scored the rest of the points through penalties.

Brosh said: "This is a great achievement because Hungary are meant to be the strongest team in our group. Beating them makes a statement for the rest of the group that we aim to win the section."
