The Maccabi Lawn Bowls tour delegation has returned from Israel following a successful trip.
A group of 73, including 54 bowlers, travelled to Israel for the eight-day tour. The delegation split into two groups which enabled them to visit all of Israel's lawn bowling clubs at Ra'anana, Ramat Gan, Haifa, Netanya, Kiryat Ono and Savyon.
Competition was of a high standard and the Maccabi GB team faced Israeli internationals and Maccabiah players.
The group also visited Sderot, near the Gaza border, Jerusalem and educational and welfare centres in Afula as well as being addressed by Matti Friedman, who was a prominent correspondent for the Associated Press.
Tour organiser Stuart Lustigman said: "This was my fifth lawn bowls tour and by far the largest and, although I was somewhat apprehensive, the group performed magnificently in all respects and were a credit to Maccabi Lawn Bowls.
"I was very proud to lead such a significant group in support of Israel."
Linda Pacifico was awarded top lady player and Eddie Bordoley top male player.
