James Bongart won the under-20 javelin competition at the Essex County Championships.
Competing in the age group for the first time, Bongart stormed the field with a personal best throw of 51.18m.
Bongart’s performance comes ahead of his first Maccabiah Games, where he will represent Team GB, and lifts him to 20th in the UK.
