Brady boosted by Dutch courage

Brady opened the scoring when the ball was floated into the box by a slick pass from Daniel Dutch, which Brady’s talisman, Freddy Martin, met with a flick into the net making it 1-0.

Finchley rallied and scored an equaliser, but Brady continued to take the game to their opponents, with man-of-the-match Noah Graft continued to work hard and makeg some barnstorming runs into the Finchley half.

The talking point in the second half were injuries to Tibber and Brand from ferocious tackles, but both were determined to bravely play on.

In the closing minutes Finchley’s fight was ended, when Dutch ran from his own half to hit a long-range shot over the Finchley goalkeeper to make it 2-1 and a well-deserved win was secured.

Brady’s co-manager David Tibber said: "This was always going to be a tough game. It turned into a real battle in midfield; our boys showed great strength and heart throughout the game and never let their concentration slip."

This was Brady’s third recent win having beaten Edmonton Rangers 5-0 the previous Sunday and Brady Maccabi having defeated their local rivals, London Lions 5-0.

In this kind of form they look forward in confidence to the second half of the season.
