Haroldeans hero Adam Boyars ended Leeds Maccabi’s perfect start to the new season.
The Merseysiders' midfielder netted a deserved late leveller to cancel out James Landes’ opener.
It was no more than Haroldeans deserved as the champions were knocked off their perch.
Stand-in boss Fraser Saville, deputising for the absent Jamie Harris, says the Yorkshiremen have been reminded they won’t
have it all their own way this season.
He said: “We probably deserved more than a draw for the way we played.
"We would have taken the result beforehand as Leeds are a strong team. I think they will go on to win the league again, but other teams will push them. Hopefully we can be one of them. This showed, despite having a smaller squad of players to work with than in recent years, we can have a say this season.
"We had not found our straps until now."
Haroldeans have been hit by an injury blow to star striker Adam Shiffman. Shiffman faces two months out with a recurrence of an ankle injury.
Saville added: “Adam’s absence leaves a big void. We will miss his goals."
