Having turned 36 on Monday, I decided to take stock and reflect on my achievements of the past 12 months. I'm pleased to report that I still have 20:20 vision. On the flipside, my body has turned from a temple into a morgue with the things I want to stay small getting bigger and vice versa.
I've always been one to look on the bright side of life (can you hear a song coming along?) and during times of hardship, am glad that I am able to save money on hair products though with two kids tagging behind me, these funds go towards birthday presents for their numerous parties.
Still, it's not all bad as I enjoyed a fruitful few months as Director of Football at FC Team and Liverpool are doing well.
I've also started playing football again and, after a three-week break, I return to action on Sunday when Faithfold B, one of my former teams, will be looking to put a few past me.
Pure Orange Function Band's Matt Bick has moved upstairs into the chairman role due to personal commitments. He has been replaced as first team coach by Adam Diamant who will work with Maurice Martin to improve the team's dreadful start to the season. Diamant commented: "I hope to have a similar impact to Harry Redknapp when he came in at Spurs.
"We want to thank Matt for all of his hard work in building a great base. We have inherited a strong squad of players and we will be looking to turn our season around very quickly. We have great potential, and if we can work together as a team, then we have no doubt that on our day we can beat anyone in our division. We are looking to avoid the drop this year and push for promotion next season."
Rapid Banta wing wizard Josh Shindler has announced his retirement. He has stepped down in anticipation of becoming a parent in the next few weeks. Shindler has been involved with the team from the start and played a big role in establishing the team. Banta's Dan Ison said: "Josh will be best remembered for his turn of pace and Forrest Gump-like style, and of course for being Danny Caro's all-time favourite Banta player after he played a blinder against him a couple of seasons ago."
Ami Wynbourne has decided to rejoin London Maccabi Lions as he recovers from injury. He could not resist the lure of playing at Rowley Lane.
Match of the day on Sunday comes in the JC Cyril Anekstein Cup where Chigwell Athletic A hope to avoid an upset against Division Two title hopefuls Southgate Harmen A.
It seems an age since Benji Wreschner took over from Jonathan Kestenbaum at Hendon United A but the rain has prevented Wreschner from putting his touch on the team. He has been handed a seemingly easy start with third division AC Cricklewood knowing that damage limitation will be the name of the game in their first round tie.
Elsewhere, London Maccabi Lions A travel to Duke of Rutland in the Sunday FA Cup. JC Maccabi League table-toppers North West Neasden A will look set to move 13 points clear when they entertain fifth-placed Redbridge Jewish Care.
