Peter Moss was never short of a word or two. And more often than not, it was the right word, a word that not everyone realised existed.
Since Peter's tragic death in Marrakesh last week, I've been inundated with tributes from people from all walks of life, including from the world of Maccabi sport, old school-friends and further afield. It is clear he touched the hearts of many.
Peter was also a top athlete and although his life ended in its 59th year, he carried on like a 20-year-old.
I recall on a trip to Israel, Peter was in the gym at the crack of dawn to ensure he got his fix of exercise. Later the same day, he had a group of 30 people in a circle around him, latching on to his every word about his love of Israel. People loved listening to him talk as he knew his stuff.
Friends from Hasmonean School, have told me some wonderful stories which can be found on a special tribute page on the website. Peter also had strong passions for football and charity. In recent years, Peter, an avid Luton Town fan, helped FC Team get off the ground. He was the grandfather of one of Maccabi's fast-growing teams. He was the club's President and fitness guru and ensured that they were up to speed at the start of their adventure into non-Jewish football. It is fitting that he saw the club's Sunday team promoted into the Maccabi League Premier Division for the first time.
During my season with the club, nothing was impossible as far as Peter was concerned. He always offered sound advice and the boys looked upon him as a father figure. He was to FC Team what Kenny Dalglish is to Liverpool FC. A legend.
Peter combined his love of football and charity with trips to Tanzania where he touched the lives of hundreds of youngsters, giving them football kits he had collected from teammates as well as an education.
He was quite simply an extraordinary human being who's legend will live on forever. He died doing what he loved – seeing the world.
He was taken in the same week as Sir Henry Cooper and Ted Lowe. I'm sure he'll be riveting company.
