Barth ensures Glekin bows out on a high

Sluckis missed a golden opportunity to double his tally when the keeper saved from a one-on-one, but Hendon did manage the second goal their play deserve when Eli Shebson's lovely through ball found Barth and he finished neatly.

Hendon's hopes took a blow early in the second half when their only recognised defender, Glen Turner, had to come off with a dislocated finger, but despite playing the remainder of the game with 10 men Hendon would not be denied.

Goalkeeper Yehuda Fink made a couple of cracking saves to preserve his clean sheet and Raiders had a goal disallowed for offside, but Hendon still posed a threat down the other end and Shebson missed the best chance of them all after firing over from point blank-range after great work from Jono Nesbitt.

Hendon sealed the three points late on when Barth scored his second with a tidy left foot finish.

Hendon manager Adam Glekin told JC Sport: "It's been a dreadful second half to the season, but it was nice to finish on a high.

"The work-rate today was brilliant, you'd never have known we had nothing to play for. To have only one recognised defender available, and for him to have to come off and then play the last 35 minutes with 10 men and no defenders yet to
keep a clean sheet speaks volumes for the lads.

"It may be my last game in charge, but this group of guys have been a pleasure to manage and today epitomised that."
