Maccabi Tel Aviv have appointed Martin Bain as CEO.

The former Glasgow Rangers CEO was a controversial figure who was suspended and fired by the Scottish club in 2011 for opposing the sale of Rangers to Craig Whyte.

History soon vindicated Bain's hostility to Whyte after the new owner led the club into liquidation in 2012.

Bain, 49, replaces Jack Angelides who has become PAOK Salonika CEO.
