"With a hat-trick from James Gershfield and a Joey Lazare double, you’d expect them to be the ones that everyone was talking about, but the star of the show undoubtedly was co-chairmen/manager and now star player Joel Alterman who made his long-awaited debut for Harmen after two years. He filled in on the left of a midfield five, linking up superbly with Ricky Rinder at left-back and did not misplace a pass. His first touch was superb and everyone’s spirits were certainly raised by having him on the pitch with them. We look forward to him becoming a regular in the side."

Star man Joel Alterman, another member of the Harmen management set-up, told JC Sport: "This was a game that we dominated from the start, the 3G pitch suited our style and we took the lead very early on.

"The back-line were superb throughout and birthday boy Max Shields was solid between the sticks, as per usual.

"We showed today how much depth we have in our squad, even without seven players we were able to field a strong team and take a convincing win against one of the big names in Jewish football."

Alex Kaye grabbed a consolation for Faithfold. Boss Zuriel Solomon told JC Sport: "It was not a good day at the office. We just didn't get going with a real makeshift team."
