Israel will stage its first-ever professional golf tournament in Caesarea from October 20-26.

The Israeli tournament will be the last event of the Alps Tour for 50 top young golf professionals and will offer prize money of €70,000 funded by the Edmond de Rothschild Bank.

Marc Harrari, president of the French-based Alps Tour said: "This will be an historic tournament to mark 65 years of friendship and cooperation between Israel and France."

Israel Golf Federation Chairman Avi Dagan said: "We will do everything to ensure the success of this tournament so that it will become an annual event."
