Sheinkin Street is one of the city’s most iconic addresses, where one truly experiences the beating pulse of Tel Aviv. It is in the historic city centre, with many Bauhaus buildings, the famous architecture of Tel Aviv, with the largest collection of Bauhaus style buildings in the world, giving this Unesco World Heritage area the name White City.

A great example of Bauhaus architecture is the building of “Habima”, Israel’s National Theatre, a five-minutes' walk from Sheinkin, at the northern end of Rothschild boulevard. A theatre of world-class proportions, it offers a truly modern stage experience in a historically important Tel Aviv location. Most of its productions are performed in Hebrew with simultaneous translation into English, attracting multi-national crowd from all over the world.

All the way southwards from “Habima” runs beautiful tree-lined Rothschild Boulevard, one of the main arteries of the city. Day and night, Rothschild Boulevard is brimming with life: people taking a stroll, walking their dogs, jogging, cycling, or simply stopping at one of the multiple restaurants, kiosks or bars lining the street for a coffee and a bite. Rothschild is also home to a number of Tel Aviv’s trendy contemporary art galleries.

Local artists gather twice a week for the ever-popular Crafts Market in Nahalat Binyamin Street, closer to the southern end of Rothschild and just a short stroll from Sheinkin Street. On market days, the pedestrian area turns into jovial show, with street performers entertaining passers-by.
