Danny Caro's Team of the Week: January 8

articlemain

1. DANNY BERLINER (North London Raiders A) - you will do well to find a better performance from an MSFL keeper this season. Berliner pulled off a series of stunning saves to keep his team in the game and earn a crucial point against Brady

2. SAM MARCHANT (Athletico Finchley) - a tower of strength at the back and played a key role in shutting Raiders C out

3. ARI NEVIES (Hendon Utd SC B) - "younger brother of Tali, Ari played left back today, although he is predominantly a centre back. Did superbly. Won everything in the air and on the ground and attacked well"

4. BENJI MANNHAIM (Temple Fortune A) - a rock at the heart of defence, keeping RJC star man Dan Orgel quiet

5. JONNY ELLIS (Brady Maccabi A) - another top-notch performance from a quality player who had played 120 day 24 hours earlier. Hammered home a penalty and threatened from set-pieces, while at the same time keeping things tight at the back

6. BEN WEINBURG (Brixton Old Boys A) - best performance Rob Blackman has seen in a Brixton shirt, "ran the game, Redbridge just couldn't get the ball from him stunning performance. Best player on both sides hands down"

7. JAKE SAUNDERS (Camden Park) - the heartbeat of the team, tough in the tackle and so composed in possession ... the complete midfielder

8. ANDY BURKE (L’Equipe) - "worked tirelessly and was a constant threat for the whole 90 minutes, scoring two goals. The Faithfold back four didn’t know what to do with him and the only negative was that he should have bagged a hat-trick"

9. LEE CASH (North West Neasden A) - reminded everyone that he's still one of the best strikers in the league. Co-manager Darren Yarlett told JC Sport: "In my opinion, there is no one better in the division at putting the ball in the back of the net. He was born to score goals"

10. MIKE PEARSON (Faithfold A) - three more goals including a stunner 25-yard curler past Matt Davis and into the top corner

11. JOSH GREEN (Norstar A) - "whether he was playing up-top or on the wing, Greenie was constantly tormenting the Montana backline and thoroughly deserved his hat-trick"
