Jeff Gotch praised the influence of Spanish ace Danny Bennaroch as Catford & Bromley Maccabi maintained their excellent record against big teams this season with a deserved point against Raiders C.

Missing 10 regulars, and with only one substitute available and a "makeshift back four," Gotch reflected on Catford's "best display of season".

Alex Elf registered for Raidersl from the penalty spot midway through the first half. Bennaroch capped a "Carloza-esque" performance with a thumping header earning his team a point.

Gotch told JC Sport: "We deserved three points and I'm pretty sure David Domb would agree.

"Yes we got our equaliser very late, but we bossed the game with Jordan Grant and our very own Carzola Danny Bennaroch running the show.

"Raiders know they got lucky."

NLR's David Domb told JC Sport: "You can see why Catford have taken points off everyone at the top this season. They really put up a battle and probably will feel they should have taken more from the game. Jeff has a good group of lads there and we look forward to the return game in a few weeks.

"But we just weren't at the races. Even when you're missing a few we should have performed better.

"But that's done and moving onto a big week ahead. It's one we're all excited about and the spirit is extremely high heading into Hendon next weekend."
