SERET London, the seventh annual Israeli Film & TV festival showcases the best of Israeli feature films, documentaries and TV, as well as offering Q&A sessions with many filmmakers and actors in venues across the capital including Samuel Maoz (Foxtrot), Eran Riklis (Shelter) and Limor Shmila (Montana). There are additional screenings in Brighton and Manchester and, for the first time, Edinburgh.
UK premieres include Doubtful, an autobiographical drama about a writer’s relationship with a group of young offenders; documentary, Women of Freedom which explores the issue of honour killings and Montana which tells the story of a woman’s difficult return to her hometown following the death of her grandfather. There is also another opportunity to see award-winning films, Foxtrot, The Cakemaker and Bar Bahar (In Between), the thrilling, pacy debut by writer/director, Maysaloun Hamoud.
To commemorate Israel’s 70th anniversary, SERET features documentaries chronicling the history and progress of its country and its people such as, A Letter from London, Ben-Gurion, Epilogue and The Oslo Diaries.
