I hope this week’s Strictly is going to be better viewing that last weekend’s, which seemed distinctly lacklustre.
I can’t believe that Zoe and James were in the dance off but I am so glad that they got through. However, Joe did make a great improvement and he should be commended.
Here’s my view as a dancing school principal on how the others are doing:
Ricky Groves
Amazing – great work on the feet and completely in character. He is doing so well – I would love to dance with him.
Jade Johnson
She gave a very lyrical and elegant performance but I thought there was a stiffness in her posture – she needs to relax more.
Ali Bastian
An excellent performance even though there were a couple of moments when she was a bit hesitant and kept looking at Brian for help. But this is a very hard dance and I think she did very well.
Jo Wood
Jo gave a lovely confident elegant performance which I thought showed great promise. I totally agree with Len: she should be proud of herself. I am so glad Jo is representing the over 50s – how lucky she is to have Brendan as a partner.
Zoe Lucker
Bravo – great performance particularly the parts she did solo.
Ricky Whittle
This guy has “winner” written all over him. An elegant, strong hold and his footwork was beautiful. He is the only man who really moves his feet properly.
Craig Kelly
Although I really like this guy and appreciate how hard he is trying his timing is not good and he has improved but not quite enough.
Joe Calzaghe
In spite of the improvement, I don’t think there is enough time to change this guy into a dancer. But he has a lovely personality and it is always good to see someone trying so hard.
Natalie Cassidy
I thought she captured the emotion of the dance and looked lovely. She always delivers a great performance.
Laila Rouass
I can’t quite put my finger on why this performance didn’t work for me. It was very messy.
Phil Tufnell
I love watching this guy. He is charming and elegant and has great potential.
Chris Hollins
I thought he did a great job but he was inaccurate – what a shame.
