Nachas is usually schlepped from younger to older generations but this Shabbat I must 'fess up,' the JC (C2, "Liberal demand for haggadah") got it wrong. It was not I who was co-editor of the new LJ Haggadah (http://www.liberaljudaism.org/pdf/LJ_Haggadah_OrderForm.pdf)but my father, Rabbi Dr Andrew Goldstein and therefore son is schlepping nachas for the father! Dad is Emeritus Rabbi of Northwood and Pinner Liberal Synagogue, where I succeeded him as Senior Rabbi in 2008. Dad, together with Rabbi Dr Charles Middleburgh is the leading LJ liturgist, and acknowledged by Rabbi Larry Hoffman in his latest publication, as one of the world's leading Progressive Jewish liturgists. I am honoured to have been confused with my father, but an honour I do not deserve. I might point out that the bit about my wife designing the haggadah is true and therefore I am a well chuffed rabbi this Shabbat!
