We have made the point many times that BDS is, at root, based on antisemitism. Alone of nations, it is the Jewish state that is chosen for boycott. But it is not just antisemitic. It is, in the broadest sense, inhuman — denying individuals their own personality and humanity and lumping them together as one large Jewish — aka Israeli — mass, all to be dismissed as beyond the pale. Nothing better illustrates this than the treatment of Shachar Rabinovitch, a 13-year-old Israeli girl , who wrote to a member of the so-called Jews for Justice for Palestinians asking an innocent question about horses and who received a diatribe in response. For all the spurious claims to the moral high ground, this is the reality of BDS — spewing bile at a 13-year-old child for no reason other than the fact that she is Israeli. But, given the near total failure of the BDS mob to achieve anything, perhaps this is all they have left in their armoury. In this one, random week, we report on a deal between Rolls Royce engines and El Al, an Arabtech event in London, UK-Israel Science Day — and the press secretary at the Israeli Embassy writes that BDS is making little headway on campus. But they did manage to scream at a 13-year-old girl.
