It’s about much-loved traditions of extended family, of celebrating festivals and Friday nights, of sharing the full life cycle. As a wife and a mother it is about continuing these traditions and helping our sons to love and look forward to them as much as I did. As a modern working person, it is about ring-fencing that bit of my life that is family, synagogue, community and keeping it alive and prioritised despite pressures of work. As a granddaughter of someone who escaped from Germany, it is about making sure my children know our family history.
