Hundreds of Jewish students from across Europe are expected to travel to Athens to celebrate a Chanucah and New Year's Eve party with a difference.

The European Centre for Jewish Students will mark the Maccabees' victory over the Greek emperor, Antiochus, with a range of festivities.

Students and young professionals aged between 18 and 35 will stay in a five-star hotel in the centre of the capital from December 30 to January 2. Activities will include tours of the city, Shabbat meals, seminars and educational sessions.

For more information visit www.newyear.ecjs.org or call 00 32 2280 3765. Registration starts at €259.
