Hyde Park moved to within two points of leaders Manchester Maccabi 3rd with an 11-1 win over Crumpsall in the Joan Collins Premier Division.
Crumpsall’s inability to hold onto possession effectively allowed Hyde Park to pick them apart at will, and they were duly rewarded with hat tricks from both Oli Grant and Dan Green, as well as four goals from David Cohen.
David James struck the final goal before Shaya Halpern pulled one back in the dying moments, but Crumpsall were never in the contest.
Manager Zevi Saunders was despondent afterwards and lamented his side’s inability to cut out their errors.
“We played well but we kept making mistakes and if you keep making mistakes a good team they punish you.
I think we can bounce back. Hopefully we got all our mistakes out of the way in one game and that will be it for the rest of the season.”
Hyde Park have the chance to go top next week when they face bottom of the table Westdene 2nd, though they would have played three games more than Manchester Maccabi.
