The start of 2016 marks the opening of the Hull community's celebrations of the 250th anniversary of Jews settling in the city.
A series of events are planned to mark the occasion, including possible speaker sessions, an anniversary lunch, and souvenir brochure charting the history of Jews in the east Yorkshire city.
Hull's first Jewish resident was recorded as living in the city in 1766, with a continuous Jewish presence since.
It is hoped past members of the community will also return to Hull to join local dignitaries at a special lunch to mark the landmark. A visit from Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis is another option being discussed. A one-day conference - The Jews of Hull - will also include a souvenir brochure with messages from those who grew up in the city or have lived there in the past.
