Students taking part in the Genesis leadership and learning programme have raised more than £3,500 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The money was collected at the project's Apprentice evening earlier this term, ahead of a mission which saw students distribute clothes, toys and sweets to the Tikva network of Jewish orphanages in Odessa, Ukraine.

Genesis is run by the Jewish Learning Exchange in conjunction with Tribe, UJS, University Jewish Chaplaincy and JSocs. It is now in its fifth year and has more than 500 graduates.

The project aims to educate campus leaders through weekly sessions and weekends away with the goal of inspiring Jewish students to become Israel advocates.
