GB go for gold at Denver Maccabi Games

Great Britain won 12 gold medals in the first two days of the JCC Maccabi Games in Denver this week. Athletes also took 11 silver and 12 bronze.

Athletics took the biggest haul, with seven of the golds. Natasha Collins and Nirvana Mitchell won the 300m hurdles with Collins also taking the 100m.

Simon Zefertt won the 100m sprint, Stanley Offord the 4x800m co-ed mixed relay, Danni Newman the 800m and Joe Ross the high jump, with a personal best of 180cm.

The pool brought them more success where Naomi Ayrton won two golds in freestyle and medley events. Jon Luke Summerfield and Annie Hyman won the 4x100 relay. Summerfield also was successful in the 400x50m.
