A former pupil of Wolfson Hillel Primary School in Southgate has been made its headteacher.
Alex Kingston, who has been acting head, takes on the role permanently today, following the appointment of Kirsten Jowett as chief executive of the United Synagogue’s new Jewish Community Academy Trust.
Ms Jowett will oversee a network initially comprising four Orthodox schools — Wolfson Hillel, Moriah in Pinner, Rimon in Golders Green and Sacks Morasha in Finchley.
Mr Kingston has previously been head of early years and was a member of the senior leadership team that guided the school to an outstanding Ofsted report two years ago. "Her passion for, commitment to and aspiration for our school shone through," the chair of governors Sarah Cotton told parents.
