The Times has upgraded Yavneh College in its annual Parent Power survey after the school said that its original entry was based on wrong information.
The state-aided secondary school in Hertfordshire is now ranked the third highest non-selective comprehensive in the newspaper’s national table – comprising both state and private schools – and joint 241st equal in the country instead of joint 318th.
According to the revised figures, it is now rated joint 185th for A-levels and joint 334th for GCSE.
At number 241 in the national table, it shares a place with three private schools, Badminton, Lancing College and the King’s High School, Warwick.
Spencer Lewis, executive head of Yavneh, told parents he was “delighted to let you know that The Times have now corrected their mistake regarding Yavneh College pupils’ outstanding performance last summer.”
He added: “I am so proud of these academic achievements which are a testament to the hard work of pupils and dedication of their teachers. This together with the outstanding Jewish education and community atmosphere pupils experience every day makes Yavneh College such a wonderful school.”
JFS emerged as the top non-selective comprehensive in this year’s table.
