Leeds Jewish Society has organised a series of events to welcome new students during freshers week.
JSoc committee members will be handing out welcome packs and answering questions at stalls at the Leeds University and Leeds Metropolitan University freshers fairs.
They have arranged a “Beer, Pimm's and Narg” launch party at the JSoc house on Tuesday September 21, followed by a barbecue lunch the next day.
To mark the first Shabbat of the new term, the JSoc has also planned a free “Freshers Friday Night Dinner”.
Leeds JSoc president James Wallis said the society would be holding events and activities throughout every week of the academic year.
He said: “There is never a dull moment up North.
“The atmosphere at Leeds JSoc is friendly, warm and comfortable and provides an amazing Jewish experience.
“It allows all Jewish students to have a meaningful experience at university regardless of religious affiliation, political viewpoint, age or interests.”
