Immanuel College in Bushey has received planning permission from Hertsmere Council to build new classrooms and sports facilities.

The school, which opened in 1990, plans to erect a new sports hall and a new teaching block, while developing sports pitches on its 11-acre site.

That will be followed by the conversion of its existing sports hall into specialist classrooms and enhancements to Caldecote Towers, a 19th century grade-II listed building.

The private college, which charges £12,500 a year for its preparatory school fees and £22,500 for the senior school, has not announced the projected cost of the new project.
