The kindergarten at Alyth Synagogue in North-West London has been rated outstanding in all areas by Ofsted.

 Children appeared “excited and keen to play” in a “highly stimulating environment”, while teachers had high expectations of all children, rewarding achievements with “high levels of praise and reassurance”.

 Inspectors noted “extremely good” settling-in procedures, staff “passionate” about children’s learning and exceptional support for those with special needs or disablities.

 Children “thoroughly enjoy participating in discussions, storytelling, singing and rhyme sessions and "enthusiastically ta part in high-quality literacy sessions".

 A wealth of experiences helped to enrich their understanding of equality and diversity, including regular cooking sessions for Shabbat and visits to the local church, shops and old age homes.

 They received plenty of fresh-air and exercise in the “well-resourced” garden.

Tor Alter, the kindergarten manager who was praised as “extremely dedicated” by Ofsted, said, “This is particularly special as we all know how much harder it has become to achieve an outstanding rating from Ofsted in recent years.”

 Rabbi Josh Levy, principal rabbi of the Reform synagogue, said, “We are extremely proud to have such a high-quality kindergarten at the heart of our community.”
