Oxford University Chabad Society hosted a Shabbat dinner to mark the retirement of Marxist philosopher and Chichele professor of social and political theory Jerry Cohen. Montreal-born Professor Cohen — who studied under an illustrious Chichele professor, Sir Isaiah Berlin — delighted the 150 guests by reciting the first Yiddish poem he learnt at his communist cheder. Oxford University Chabad director Rabbi Eli Brackman chaired the dinner.
