The Pinner Synagogue batmitzvah girl is a pupil at St. Helen's School in Northwood. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, drama and sport. To mark her celebration, she donated £1,671 to Shaare Zedek from a dancing event she organised for 60 women towards the building of a children's hospital in Israel

What was special about your simchah?

I was born on Yom Haatz-maut and as my simchah was on the same day as the Salute to Israel parade, I chose the theme of Israel. Invitations, table names, balloons and decorations were all blue-and-white and the food was typically Israeli. Each guest received a Magen David-shaped chocolate with "Israel's 60 Years" printed on it.

My brother Sam played the keyboard and sang Eshet Chayil with my dad. My mum read the prayer for Israel. Twelve members of my family lit a candle to celebrate each year of my life and represent 12 aims that I have for my future. My dvar Torah was on the 10 famous people who have contributed to the modern Israel - Theodore Herzl, Moses Montefiore, Chaim Weizmann, Eliezer Ben Yehuda, David Ben Gurion, Henrietta Szold, Golda Meir, Hannah Senesh, Naomi Shemer and Tzipi Livni.

My party was at a function room in Edgware from midday to 6pm, to give my dad time to get home in time to watch the final of the Euro 2008 football. I had really enjoyed having family members from outside London over for dinner on Friday night and for Shabbat lunch.
