Southend and Westcliff Hebrew Congregation held its annual security stewards' Shabbat to honour those volunteers who protect the community. There was a dedicated service followed by a kiddush also in their honour.
Rabbi Binyamin Bar paid tribute to the Community Security Trust's tireless efforts for their all year round work. In the evening at a seudah, 30 people listened to Southend CST security chief David Ramet who spoke about the organisation, how it was formed, its early years, and his involvement in recruitment and training.
