Thirteen was a lucky number for Emunah as barmitzvah boy Jacob Selwyn completed the challenge of unscrambling 13 Rubik’s cubes and puzzles in less than 13 minutes to raise £2,300 for the Israeli welfare charity.

In fact, the Yavneh College student solved the puzzles in just over ten minutes.

“I took on the challenge because I know there are a lot of kids in Israel who come from messed-up homes and are less fortunate than me,” Jacob said. “Thanks to Emunah, the money I have raised will mean better lives for neglected boys and girls of my age.”

The fundraiser took place ahead of Jacob’s barmitzvah at Borehamwood and Elstree Synagogue, where his parents Joanna and Adam are members.
