Less can be more when it comes to making an event truly sparkle, so I like to start with getting the basics pitch-perfect. I focus on the guest experience — from arrival to departure — and the importance of each interaction along the way. From the dapper butlers who answer the door and take coats, to the texture of the cocktail napkin fabric, the music, scented candles... These finer details will engage all the senses and, when they are perfected, alongside the wider food, drink and ambience, then you have created a glittering and memorable occasion.

Choose a sparkling location — such as Gibson Hall with its gold ceilings with theatrical domes, chandeliers, gold emblems surrounding the walls and golden yellow curtains which remind us of a fairy tale. Being in a commercial area means you do not have noise restrictions, so guests can party the night away.

A spectacular setting is paramount for any event to truly stand out, with impressive interiors that strike just the right balance between opulent and understated. For example, our grand ballroom is a contemporary take on London’s classic hotel ballrooms. Sweeping dimensions make larger events easy to stage and a self-contained reception with private bar makes logistics seamless. There is nothing quite like descending a marble staircase, flanked by flowers beneath dazzling light installations, before entering a beautifully dressed ballroom.

Make your event a multi-sensory experience. Stunning visual styling appeals to the sight. Great music (and other entertainment) enhances sound. Delicious food makes taste and smell come alive. Different textures and, on an emotive level, the atmosphere in the room engage the touch. A blend of these, with meticulous attention to detail, create an event that sparkles.

Bluebird’s refurbished first-floor restaurant creates an impact with mature trees, wild flowers, herbs and bespoke textiles. In general, attention to detail enables us to create unforgettable moments. This covers every aspect from lighting to flowers, table decorations to table plans, not forgetting the attentiveness of staff, the welcome greeting, the sparkling smile from reception as they take the coats, right through to the last minute.

Quaglino’s creates drama with its signature sweeping staircase, show-stopping stage and central cocktail bar. Whether it is a quirky dish adaptation, an original table centrepiece, bespoke delectable menus or sensational entertainment, all of this will make your event sparkle.

A unique venue makes an event sparkle. 100 Wardour St, for instance, is inspired by the spirit of fun of its location in Soho, one of the world’s most celebrated entertainment and live music districts. Its features include a spectacular centrepiece bar and dining space, spiral staircase and cocktail bar. The restaurant can be set up for a sit-down dinner or canapé and bowl food party. Your favourite live bands and DJs, with extras such as lighting, sound and dance floor, will help make your event one to remember.

Music should not just be the icing on the cake of an event but is key to making it a success. Your event should reflect your own sparkling personality and therefore you should choose a music supplier who will work closely with you to create a package unique to you and your event’s style. Choose entertainment with wow factor that is something a little bit different, so memories of those special moments will last a lifetime.

Firstly you need a venue that suits your needs perfectly. Next you need great food and plenty of it. Lastly, and most importantly of all, fantastic entertainment (of course we are a little biased). Music is a vital element to any party and if you are able to have a live band, it is such a bonus, as you get an amazing atmosphere and interaction with your guests.

Add a personalised diamanté touch to your bespoke stationery, create a signature cocktail, arrive in style with a helicopter... Little things mean a lot; a touch of lace or ribbon is all that is needed to tie the details together but sometimes we want to make a bolder statement. Add shimmer with a sequin table runner and nothing says romance better than a cascading sparkle of pea-lights.
