Josh is making money for jam for World Jewish Relief

Ten-year-old sets up charitable retail operation - and his mum makes the jam

articlemain

A Finchley ten-year-old has set up an online jam shop to raise funds for World Jewish Relief.

Josh Shrubsole built a website, wrote the promotional wording and took and edited the pictures for the business, which retails three jams — spiced apple, fig and vanilla and pear, ginger and chilli.

Keeping it in the family, the jams are made by his mum Sasha.

“Lots of people like our jam because it’s seasonal fruit and a lovely Rosh Hashanah gift,” Josh said. “We know a few people who are putting the apple jam on their Yomtov table.”

He chose WJR because it is a global charity helping Jews and non-Jews alike.
