Jewish Blind & Disabled tenant gets civic honour

Michael Henriques helps others with vision impairment

articlemain

Jewish Blind & Disabled tenant Michael Henriques has received a civic award from the Mayor of Barnet, Brian Salinger.

He was nominated by fellow members of the Barnet Borough Sight Impaired group for his efforts to help others in similar situations.

Mr Henriques — who lives at JBD’s Frances and Dick James Court in Mill Hill — was “totally shocked to be nominated as the things I do for Barnet Borough Sight Impaired are because I enjoy them. I love the events, quizzes, fundraisers and trips we put on, and especially the chance to meet new people.”

He was presented with a scroll certificate by Mr Salinger, who said: “It is enriching to live in a borough which contains such selfless and motivated individuals who work endlessly to make Barnet a better place.”
