Foreign Office welcomes guests to its first succah

articlemain

In a first, a succah was erected in the main quadrangle of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office by members of the FCO’s Religion and Belief Group.

Decorated with lanterns and paper chains made by children at the FCO Nursery, it was on Wednesday the venue for a talk by Edgware Synagogue’s Rabbi David Lister about the significance of the festival.

Lord Ahmad, the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on Freedom of Religion or Belief, was “delighted to see the FCO celebrating their Jewish colleagues.

“It’s important we as an organisation continue to bring communities together in a way that respects all faiths, beliefs and practices to eliminate discrimination.”
