Mirjam Hirsh, aged 87, and her friend, Anita Kay, are holding an open house of their creative work in order to celebrate art and life on November 25-26 and December 2-3.
The pair met around 40 years ago when they both attended jewellery classes at Barnet College. Ending up on the same course at The Cass School of Art, they not only soldered together but sealed a life-long friendship. They continue to share their love for arts and crafts.
Mirjam has recently discovered the art of glass slumping with her teacher Karen Davies and says that this passion and creativity has literally been a life saver.
Meanwhile Anita has been exploring different textile media and fabric printing techniques. They both enjoy a growing body of work and are holding the festive open house sale, which takes place in Whetstone, north London, to celebrate over 100 years of combined creative play in silver, jewellery, pottery, embroidery and glass.
