Novelist Jonathan Wilson, now based in America, appears to be entering into the spirit of the current literary fashion for confession by appearing at an event in Boston, Massachusetts, later this month with his son Adam to reveal what father Jonathan passed on to son Adam, then a boy, as formative reading material: a copy of Playboy magazine along with Philip Roth's Portnoy's Complaint. Makes a change from the usual barmitzvah encyclopaedia, and possibly more directly instructive.
