Given all the chocoholics in the world, it's surprising it took so long for a hotel to arrive that is dedicated to their whims, and OD'ing on the sweet stuff is not hard to do at the 13-room Chocolate Boutique Hotel in the West Cliff area of Bournemouth.
An Edwardian house painted Milky Bar cream piped in chocolate brown, its rooms are named for the varieties foodies are likely to seek out in their local Waitrose.
Ours, called Seventy Per Cent, was beautifully decorated with headboards and wall panels in chocolate and gold printed silk. Even the brown waffle cotton towels looked like soft chocolate bars, and naturally, there is in-room chocolate galore - milk, dark, white and fruit-flavour. Our only complaint was that clothes-hanging space was set a bit too high.
The piece de resis-tance for many guests is the in-room choc fountain you can order to await your arrival - with strawberries and marshmallows for dipping.
There is no restaur-ant, but a groovy bar with a 60s-style cocktail machine that dispenses chocolate-favoured libations at the touch of a screen.
Breakfast choices range from full English to veggie options - plus chocolate pancakes and the world's best drinking chocolate served in large shot cups from a machine in the corner.
Many guests time a visit to coincide with one of the fortnightly truffle-making workshops - also available to non-residents, and a great idea for a hen party.
RATES: from £90 double including breakfast and wi-fi.
