Cardiff United Synagogue has installed solar panels in a bid to "go green" while cutting its electricity bills. Rabbi Michoel Rose said the congregation is "delighted with our new installation. It's great to know that we can invest in our financial security, cutting our energy bills, and we get a subsidy from the government's Feed-in tariffs scheme as well, which makes investing in the panels very attractive. It is nice to know that we do this while caring for the wider community and environment for the well-being of the next generation."
Rabbi Rose and synagogue council member David Woolf were the instigators of the project. The congregation relocated to its Cyncoed Gardens premises in 2003 and has 200 members.
