● A new society for postgraduate and mature Jewish students has been formed in Leeds and Manchester.
The JSoc co-chairs Michael Kay, Kate Sutton and Julia Doff hope the group will present socialising and network opportunities.
Members of the Northern Jewish Postgraduate and Mature Student Society include those studying law, teaching and medicine, as well as students beginning their studies at the age of 21 or above.
Michael said: "Whereas existing JSocs cater very well for younger students, we're excited to provide activities and a social space for those who have been at university for longer, or who are entering higher education at a later stage."
Around 25 people attended a pre-Purim party. For more details about the society email michael_a_kay@hotmail.co.uk.
